Frequently Asked Questions
-
Think of psychotherapy as a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly, explore what’s been weighing on you, and learn tools to feel more grounded and empowered. It’s a collaborative process—we’re in it together.
-
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply craving some clarity, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis. Many people come to therapy because they’re ready to grow.
-
I work with people experiencing things like anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, low mood, self-doubt, or life transitions. Even if what you’re going through doesn’t have a label, you’re welcome here.
-
We’ll talk about what’s on your mind, explore patterns, and try out strategies that support your goals. Some sessions are deep; others are practical. It all depends on what you need that day.
-
Most sessions are about 50 minutes—enough time to check in, dig in, and wrap up with intention.
-
Typically people come weekly. After two months we will revisit and determine what is best for you.
-
It really depends. Some people come for a few months; others stay longer for deeper, ongoing support. We’ll talk about what feels right for you.
-
Yes. Your privacy is incredibly important. There are only a few rare exceptions related to safety or legal requirements, and I’ll walk you through those clearly.
-
Yes! I offer secure online (telehealth) sessions, so you can join from wherever you feel comfortable—your home, office, or even a cozy spot on the couch.
-
Our first session is all about getting to know you—what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and what life has been like for you. No need to prepare anything. Just bring yourself. I offer a complimentary first session.
-
Not at all. Therapy is for anyone looking for support, insight, or change—regardless of whether you have a diagnosis.
-
I’m out-of-network and payment is due before each session. I can provide a receipt (superbill) for reimbursement. I’m happy to explain how this works—it’s simpler than it sounds.
-
I ask for a 24 notice if something comes up and you need to reschedule.
-
I use mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy—but I tailor everything to your needs. No two people are alike, and therapy shouldn’t be either.
-
Sometimes exploring tough topics can stir up emotions—that’s totally normal. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
-
Absolutely. Therapy can be a space for self-discovery, better communication, stress prevention, and building healthier patterns. You’re welcome here at any stage of life.
-
That’s more common than you might think. Every therapist and approach is different. We’ll talk about what wasn’t helpful last time and find a way that fits you better.
-
Totally okay. Many people feel that way—especially in the beginning. I’ll guide us gently so you never feel lost or pressured.
-
I currently work with clients 18 and older. If you’re unsure whether I’m the right fit, just reach out and we can talk it through.
